Kathy Griffin will no longer host the annual New Year’s Eve special with Anderson Cooper. CNN announced the news Wednesday on Twitter:
CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program.

CNN announced this right after Griffin decided to publish a picture of a photoshoot she did with Tyler Shields. What’s so wrong with this photoshoot you may ask? She held President Trump’s head covered with blood all over the place.
Of course, Griffin later published an apology on her official Twitter page:
I am sorry. I went too far. I was wrong. pic.twitter.com/LBKvqf9xFB

Trump replied to her photo shoot with the following Tweet.
Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!

As for Anderson Cooper, he just wanted to make it clear that he did not want to be associated with Griffin’s actions:
For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.
